So hard to believe that I am old enough to have a daughter that is married!! Temple was such a highlight and thanks to Matt, he had arranged to have Papa and Kathy waiting on SKYPE so that they saw her walk out the temple doors to the cheering crowds. Lets just say there wasn't a dry eye that witnessed it. It was so special. As soon as she came out, Matt said Kelsey, here's Papa and she began to cry. She had wanted him there to seal her and Colton so very bad so to see him was overwhelming. They were able to talk a bit but it was hard to hear. It was so cute because the littlest grand kids would run by the computer and blow kisses and say I love you Papa and Grandma! They got to watch all the picture taking and then it was awesome that Kels and Colt stood on the stairs of the Temple and held the Laptop and posed for a picture. How lucky are we and THIS is what technology was invented for! It truly made Kelsey's day as well as all of ours and I know it must have been a hard day for Dad and Kathy to be so far away but this was the next best thing. What a blessing!! Although the weather did not cooperate, we had the most spectacular friends and family that put in to place what I had already planned and thanks to Neil and Alicia Richardson, took the worry from me and allowed people to come into to their amazing home (with white carpeting) and then off the dining room outside, was a tent of all tents. A chandelier... I mean really! Windows, and the colors we had chosen looked spectacular!! Purples on all the round tables which were packed with loved ones enjoying the evening and we even had a dance floor where our dear friend Alex Boye' although he is NOT a wedding singer, was kind enough to promise to sind the first dance at all my daughters receptions since we have had a special bond since their first daughter Adanna.. 2 years old... was born and now handsome little Zander ... 5 months old are like our children. For that reason, I am happy the wedding is over so I can start spending more time with my 2 favorite little people. I love them like they're are my own.
Kelsey married a wonderful guy. It was not easy for me to say yes he could marry her when he pulled me aside. I think he'd hoped it would be a 10 or 15 minute talk but 2 and 1/2 hours later, he had finally convinced me that he loved he more than anything in the world and would always take care of her... I believed him!! They are in love and she is so proud to have taken on his name "McLachlan" and to have knelt across that altar from him to be sealed for time and all eternity. It was a beautiful morning. The sealing room was filled to the brim with many loved ones there to support them and then the evening... well, lets just say, almost everyone came that we invited of the 400 plus people. We had quite a party and danced the night away to Alex Boye' and then Colton's uncle who did the DJ and was awesome! The flowers was gorgeous, Oranges, purples, purple table clothes with organge berries, laterns and votives, the cake was on a seperate round table covered in oranges and was a really gorgeous cake (not much to taste but boy did it look nice). Everything was wonerful!! All the planning, all the envisioning and nightmares and dreams all came true!! It reall was beautiful! I can't wait for the pictures so I can post them and I will! It was a night never to be forgotten and ended with Kelsey in her white sweats specially made that said on top "The New Mrs. McLachlan" and on the rear said BRIDE" all in purple rhinestones like her colors. Then Colt and Kels waited with Alicia inside the doors while we all lite 2 foot long sparklers and held them up in an arch as they were then given the signal to go ahead to the car which was decorated and parked at the end of the long line of sparklers. There were also lots of little kids blowing bubbles at them as well. A great night from the morning at the temple, til the evening at the Richardson s. We are so blessed to have so many friends and family who helped to make the day go off without a glitch! Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. McLachlan!!! xoxo
