Just as well get the accident out of the way, right?

Wednesday, while I am working from bed, Dr's orders to stay down so the disc's and swelling can go down, I get a TERRIFIED cell call from Aleigh. "Mom, I've been in a bad accident" I asked if she was ok, but it was obvious she wasn't so I left immediately! Arrived at Olympus High School and sweet Aleigh, in tears, said Mom, "I was just coming home to make you some lunch because I know you're in so much pain" I felt so bad for her. Luckily, even though she was the final line of cars (which in Utah, is an automatic ticket for the final car) the officer did not find fault with here so no ticket. That was the good news. The air bags had deployed and both arms looked burned, the officer thought that "medical" should be called. She obviously hit her head on something, had very bad whiplash and it appeared she broke her arm. Her car (Kelsey's car) was undriveable!!! Radiator fluid had come through all the air vents and who knows what else. It was a frightening experience. We still can't believe she is as ok as she is when you see her care. And we were blessed on the financial end of it (knock on wood quick!) We hadn't had any crashes since I signed up for Allstates new plan so they forgave that accident...yeah....and apply $100 each year we don't use our insurance so we had $300 toward our deductible so the whole thing, including medical, the rental car etc., is only $200. What a financial blessing!! We found out Aleigh was VERY anemic about 3 weeks ago so that has been our focus, but while we were checking her gash across her chest from the seat belt, the worry of a concusion, the buckle fracture on her are and her bruised ribs, they checked her blood and her hemoglobin is still low. In fact today, even lower, 10.1. Not good. The problem they FINALLY found out is that no matter how much iron they are giving her, her body is not absorbing it. That absorption level is a 6!!! Crazy. So we are focused on her for a while and will get her back to our fun loving Aleigh really soon and hope to get her to drive in a car with out crying REAL SOON...not the funnest!!!! For any of us! And now the blue skies come out and things get better from here on out :) THE END
